Ohana Fair

The Church is in the process of organizing an Ohana Fair for Sunday, August 21, 2005. The various small groups and fellowship groups are going to tell you what they are like and invite you to become a part of this family of God.

God has called us through Jesus Christ to become His children (John 1:12). God has so arranged us to become part of Christ’s body-the church for some very specific purposes. “God has put the body together in such a way that…this makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other equally” (I Corinthians 12:24-25, NLT). Through Christian meetings, we are encouraged to “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful…And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” (Hebrews 10:23-24 NIV).

In order to accomplish these divine goals in our lives, Ohana groups are formed for the fourfold purposes of:

C - Care for each other as family of God.
I - Instruct each other in the Word of God.
A - Hold each other accountable in Christian growth.
O - Outreach others with the Good News of Christ.

At the beginning of this year, our Board members grouped themselves into three groups and met regularly for deacons training, prayer, and fellowship. At the end of the six-session training, the experience has been so positive that many of them have decided to continue to meet as Ohana Groups.

Psalm 34:8 challenges us: “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” Give our Ohana Groups a try. I trust you will not be disappointed.

Love in Christ Jesus,

Pastor Ling
