Ten Rules for Real Happiness

Dear Friends,

A few years ago, my wife Naro and I were riding a Tokyo subway when I noticed a large poster in subway car promoting sake'--Japanese rice wine. The ad read: "Are you happy? Really?" The idea was that you're not really happy until you are drinking sake'. And I thought to myself, "Give me a break!" Today let me share with you Ten Rules for Real Happiness:

1. Give something away to someone (with no strings attached).
2. Do a kindness to someone (and forget it).
3. Look intently into the face of a baby (and marvel).
4. Laugh often (it is life's lubricant).
5. Give thanks to the Lord (a thousand times a day is not enough).
6. Pray (or you will lose the way).
7. Work (with vim and vigor).
8. Live as though you'll die tomorrow (because your body will on some tomorrow).
9. Plan as though you'll live forever (because you will if you have asked Jesus into your heart).
10. Surrender your life to Christ (because only when you seek His happiness will you truly find your own).

Praying for your happiness,

Pastor Dave
